At Pentarch, we recognise the importance of integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations into our business strategy. We are committed to operating in a manner that not only generates financial value for our shareholders but also contributes positively to society and the planet.
Environmental Responsibility
We are dedicated to minimising our environmental impact and promoting sustainability throughout our operations. This includes reducing our carbon footprint, managing waste responsibly, and conserving natural resources. We will continually assess and improve our environmental performance, embracing innovation to develop more sustainable products and practices.
Pentarch has environmental stewardship obligations which demands strict adherence to laws, regulations and Codes of Practice which ensure minimal disturbance and ethical use of our natural resources.
Pentarch Forestry has an Environmental Policy and an environmental management system in place which demonstrates its commitment to continually assess, develop and review environmental performance.
We are reducing our energy use with programs such as solar and more novel solutions including solid gas turbines and bio-fuels. Pentarch is generating Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) in its plantations.
Social Impact
Our commitment to social responsibility extends to our people, customers and the communities in which we operate. We strive to create a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace, fostering a culture that values the wellbeing and development of our people.
We actively engage with our communities, supporting initiatives that address social challenges and contribute to their long-term prosperity.
Pentarch is committed to providing an inclusive and diverse workplace where our people feel safe, valued and respected. Pentarch is committed to equal employment opportunity to ensure equity, social inclusion and prohibit discrimination in employment.
Our Equal Opportunity policy provides a framework to ensure that our business is guided by the principles of equal opportunity, respect and inclusion and complies with the spirit and intent of federal and state legislation.
Our Code of Conduct sets our standards of behaviour for all our Directors and employees, and extends to contractors, agents and anyone engaged by Pentarch to represent us.
Bullying and harassment is not tolerated within the Pentarch Group and our policy places expectations on all our staff to create a work environment in which our people are treated with dignity, courtesy and respect. Our Modern Slavery Statement condemns the deprivation of a person’s liberty and recognises the importance of diligence in our supply chain and markets.
Governance Excellence
Transparency, integrity and accountability are fundamental to our corporate governance principles. We maintain high standards of business ethics, ensuring that our decision-making processes are fair, ethical and aligned with the best interests of our stakeholders. We have established strong governance structures to oversee and guide our business activities, promoting long-term sustainability and resilience.
Pentarch is voluntarily developing a system to track its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions to set a baseline for target setting a reduction in its greenhouse gas emissions. This is in addition to the positive carbon benefits that are generated out of its plantations.
The Pentarch Board is focused on risk management and has established a sub-committee to manage, report on and recommend actions to minimise or eliminate risks to the environment, stakeholders and employees.
Continuous Improvement
We recognise that the journey towards sustainability is ongoing. As such, we commit to regular reviews of our ESG practices, seeking ways to improve and adapt to emerging challenges and opportunities. We will engage with stakeholders, listen to their concerns, and incorporate feedback to refine our ESG initiatives.
